Overwintering the Banana Tree

At the end of the season when the banana starts to die back, we chop it down and pile it up on top of itself to protect it over winter.

In spring we uncover the mess to reveal fresh new shoots
Young shoots can be dug up with some root attached and potted up or planted elsewhere!
